What has the Option Process meant for them?
I have had great joy participating in the Option Process with Niels Højer as a mentor, both professionally and privately.
First and foremost, I have learned to be more relaxed!
I used to have a tendency to be very emotional when I was influenced by friends, family, colleagues , and work assignments. I felt great happiness, sorrow, anger, etc… I felt that if I didn’t react in that way it was because I didn’t care (I think I called it as being “cold hearted”). Option Process has thought me that I can be active and engaged while still being relaxed inside. I can accept things and choose to be positive!
I have also learned to accept the way other people react the way they do towards me. They have their own reasons for their reactions. With a few open questions I can figure out what they really mean and do, and why they do it, and often the questions help themselves to understand it better. It is fantastic! Its actually no more complicated then that!
These two foundation stones have made my everyday life easier plus it gives me energy and helps me understand others. This is privately and most certainly in my dealings with workmates and colleagues. It is as if it’s contagious, if I am calm and positive, then people around me also become calm.
But the whole thing is a process, and once in a while I stumble and forget what I have learned, that happiness is a choice. Its actually okay, because that’s how I am, and I remember it quickly again. Because it is so true, Happiness is a choice!

Reference of Niels Højer
I have had the pleasure of meeting Niels on different occasions. I have myself been through a coaching process with him, I have also during my period of time as HR director had niels help coworkers who have had a need for personal or professional enlightenment.
Niels is good at bringing out what one really has on their minds. Not necessarily what one is most aware of, but that which is filling the thoughts and can be blocking one to take the right action. I myself have experienced putting into words what is important for me and therefore feel more capable in believing in the choices I make are right.
Since working with Niels is fully confidential, I cant talk about the coworkers in the same way, but have the impression that they have gained some tools themselves to work with.
I have found the method Niels uses very interesting and see it as a good supplement to other more directive development activities that are part of employee development programs.

“The Option Process has done for me what no other psychologist has done. Through dialogues with Niels Hojer i have found out which of my actions trigger unhappiness and the consequences of it.
I have achieved greater insight as to what needs to be done to handle everyday stress from a great mental work pressure. I have, among other things, begun to accept that I make mistakes, its a part of life and how else can I improve?
All of this is naturally also a joy for my family.
